Private Leslie Francis Lott was a 23 year old wood machinist from Railway Street, Rockdale, New South Wales. He was the son of Mr Harry Lott. He enlisted on 20 November 1914 and was assigned to the 4 Infantry Battalion, 2 Reinforcements. He embarked with his unit aboard the HMAT Seang Bee A48 from Melbourne on 11 February 1915. He was wounded on 13 August 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula, suffering from shattered fingers. He was admitted to hospital in Malta on 17 August 1915. He embarked from hospital in Malta for England per the H.S. Panama on 8 October 1915. He was admitted to the 3 London General Hospital in Wandsworth on 16 October 1915. He returned to Australia per H.T. A11 Ascanius on 17 March 1916 due to a gunshot wound to his right hand. He was discharged on 5 August 1916.
